How it works
X weights characters: Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew and Arabic = 1, CJK and Korean characters and each emoji = 2, and every link = 23 regardless of true length. As on X, a link does not need http:// or https://: a bare domain with a real top-level domain ("example.com", "bit.ly/abc") counts as a link too, using twitter-text's own TLD list.
The counter mirrors Twitter's rules, so the number matches what the platform will accept.
If your text exceeds the limit, the auto-splitter breaks at sentence boundaries and optionally appends thread indicators "(1/3)" etc.
